Policy Dialog to Mark the 2024 World Health Day

A policy dialog was held on the 8th of April 2024 to mark the 2024 World Health Day. The event themed My Health My Right was held at the iconic Transcorp Hilton Abuja and drew participants from the legislature, United Nations affiliated organizations, and Nigeria’s health care delivery system.

Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Health represented by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Kachollom Daju , promised improvements in the health sector. Some of the improvements to be expected include better delivery of health services, upgrade in health infrastructure, and reduced brain drain within the health sector.

World Health Organization (WHO) country representative for Nigeria, Walter Kazadi Mulombo was of the opinion that health and health related matters ought to start being viewed from the human right perspective and the sustainable development goal no. 3.
