Tourism and culture intertwine in the advancement of tourism within the Vanilla Islands of the Comoros and Mayotte.

Maalesh Ntsobwe, a prominent musician, songwriter, and performer from Comoros, took center stage as his island welcomed passengers aboard a luxury cruise liner at the Port of Moroni.

Ntsobwe's performance served as a poignant reminder that culture forms the foundation of a sustainable tourism industry. When culture is integrated into the tourism sector, it actively engages the local populace, enriching the visitor experience. Alain St. Ange emphasized this point, stating, "Culture cannot thrive if the population does not thrive."

"This has always been the ethos of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands Group, and today, Comoros excelled," remarked Alain St. Ange, former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports, and Marine of Seychelles, who now leads the 'Saint Ange Tourism Consultancy.' He urged for more initiatives like Ntsobwe's performance, underscoring the significance of tourism as a vital economic driver for respective countries.

Furthermore, Mr. St. Ange commended both the Tourism Departments of Mayotte and Comoros for their efforts in showcasing their cultural richness to cruise passengers visiting their ports this week.
