POWER AND WATER CRISIS ON UCC CAMPUS

POWER AND WATER CRISIS ON UCC CAMPUS

*POWER AND WATER CRISIS ON UCC CAMPUS.*

The recent power outages and erratic water supply on the campus of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) have made life unbearable for students living in various halls of residence. The government's inability to solve the energy crisis has led to these issues, leaving students frustrated and struggling to cope with the constant shortage of water for domestic activities.

The lack of consistent electricity has not only disrupted academic activities but has also affected the daily lives of students. With power outages becoming a common occurrence (DUMSOR), students are unable to study effectively, complete assignments on time, or even charge their electronic devices. This has created a stressful environment for students who are already under serious pressure to perform well academically.

In addition to the power outages, the erratic water supply has further exacerbated the situation. Students are forced to endure long periods without water, making it difficult to carry out basic hygiene practices and household chores. The lack of water has also raised concerns about sanitation and the spread of diseases among students living in close quarters. Students are forced to buy sachet water to bathe and use it for other things. I mean, how can the Government be this heartless and wicked to the future leaders of this country?

The government's failure to address these issues is unacceptable and highlights a lack of prioritization of the needs of students. Immediate action must be taken to resolve the energy crisis and ensure a consistent supply of water and electricity on campus. Students deserve better living conditions that support their academic success and overall well-being. The government must step up and take responsibility for providing essential services to the students within the university community.
