HOW THEY FARED...

*APC PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANTS SPEECH PRESENTATION*

A writer's opinion.

1. *Ahmed Tinubu*... Was given 2 minutes but spent 30 minutes rambling from a written script with shaky hands. Master strategist per excellence. The man to beat.

2. *Ahmed LAWAN* - senate president. gave a great performance and speech. Stands a good Chance

3. *Ahmed Yerima* (sharia Gov)- just proved himself as an empty headed Islamic extremist and bigot. He wasted 10 minutes talking nonsense. He has zero chances

4. *Ajayi Borrofice* - spoke well but lacks the confidence and mien of a president. Stands zero chance. That's why he came back to step down for Tinubu.

5. *Ben Ayade* - blew lots of grammar (expectedly) but held his head high. No stepping down

6. *Abubakar Baduru*- Jigawa gov simply stepped down for Tinubu with the hope of becoming his running mate.(who dash monkey?)

7. *Dave Umahi* - spoke well and strongly of his achievements as a Governor.

8. *Dimeji Bankole* - spoke well and left but later came back to step down for Tinubu

9. *Godswill Akpabio* - stepped down for Tinubu, no drama

10. *IBIKUNLE AMOSUN* - stepped down for Tinubu. No drama.

11. *Kayode Fayemi*- spoke well but stepped down for Tinubu. The greatest disappointment of the night.

12.. *Pastor Tunde Bakare* - eloquent as usual. Made a passionate appeal but didn't step down. Rather he STEPPED UP (in his words). Showed the clergy in him by calling for a minute silence for the souls of the Owo massacre and others.

13. *Uju Kennedy*... Only female presidential aspirant. She just came to cast dry jokes and be the only one laughing at the jokes, then she stepped down for Tinubu.

14. *Pastor Nicholas Felix Nwagbo*- appealed to the youths then esprit de corps took over. He stepped down for fellow Pastor (Osibanjo).

15. *Rotimi Amaechi*- spoke like a wounded lion but all his words were openly hypocritical. He questioned the source of income of other aspirants ( a sin 100% of them are guilty of), called himself the only performer. Fated, shaky. He didn't even sound so confident

16. *"Pilot" Rochas Okorocha* - e no fall hand at all. Lived up to expectation. He was at his theatrical and dramatic best.... regaling the crowd with tales of his humanitarian exploits and recent escape from EFCC clutches, blowing Hausa language upandan like a native and ending with a subtle but stern warning to Igbo delegates in Igbo (onye mara asu, ôsua na ikwe). He knows he s going nowhere except maybe back to EFCC custody

17. *Jack Tien-Rich* - another GEJ wannabe. Told how his dad impregnated his mom then left them in abject poverty. Luckily, he later hit it big and has used his wealth to enrich others... No news though, millions of Nigerians have been there...

18. *Ken Nnamani*- lamented the injustice to the south east. But it's medicine after death as he had already quit the race before the convention.

19. *Yahaya Bello* - the firebrand youthful Governor who also appealed to youths and sounded Wike-like (Give me the ticket, let me defeat PDP and Atiku).

20. *Ikeobasi Mokelu* - to me, the worst of this night. He spent over 10 minutes praise singing and campaigning for Buhari and claiming to know him more than others. Then as an afterthought, he used 15 seconds to say he (Ikeobasi) was contesting for the post of President!

21. *Ogbonnaya Ônu* - a refined gentleman with the gift of the garb. He passionately reminded the crowd how he gave up his presidential ticket of ANPP in 1998 for Olu Falae to ensure that the south west emerged president then. He said he expected the Southwest to reciprocate this time around but was disappointed at the injustice being meted out to the south east. A real crusader and hero of his people. His plaintive cry- *WHERE IS THE JUSTICE?* will forever reverberate in APC. He exposed the underbelly of injustice in the APC.

22.. *Yemi Osibanjo* - the ultra smooth, over refined gentleman-clergy who expertly crams his lines and blows grammar like the pro he is. He was intermittently interrupted by youths hailing him. The fight is a straight one between he and his erstwhile benefactor and godfather, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Great speech as usual.

*Absentees*

1. *Emeka Nwajiuba* - after being screened and qualified to contest, he didn't even show up at the convention. The MC called him out several times to no avail. Lost N100m, lost ministerial appointment.

*And the winner after all the drama is...............*
