DERO FOUNDATION REDEFINE GRASSROOTS SPORTS DEVT IN REMOLAND.
Though the Maiden edition of the Dero 5-Aside Football Tournament has come and gone the ripples created across the length and breadth of Remo, Ijebu, Sagamu Axis in Ogun State still reverberated.
The Football Competition is an initiative of Prince Olumuyiwa Osindero, Aka. Omo Dero organized it as the Convener under the auspices of Dero Foundation with a mission of using sports development and entertainment as a basis to create unity among youths across all the towns in Remo North and the environment.
Amongst the many things that stand the event out from the crowdy past is the professional touches adopted by the organizers who scheduled the completion to be played in a strategic location being the first time a football competition will be played inside the Palace in Remo/Ijebuland.
Another milestone set by the organizer is their ability to attract the confidence of the notable illustrious Remo Citizens.
This royal endorsement from His Royal Highness Oba Adetunji Osho, Alaye Ode of Ode-Remo, Olori Stella Osho, Oba Mukaila Oduwaye and his Olori, Onifojege of fojege Sagamu, Oba Timothy Akinsanya Ewusi of Makun Sagamu, and Olori Oduwaye swell the competition.
Even though the Competition is the maiden edition to activate the annual event aimed at catalyzing grassroots Youth developments was held during the year's end when various organizations and communities were busy rounding up and still attracted many Very Very Important Personalities VVIPs as collaborators and spectators.
Many of the VVIPs sighted during the competitions include Hon Awolaja Dickson Kolawole, Deputy Minority Whip Ogun state House of Assembly dis man was represented by Sanya Atakan, Chief Mayegun Kola Ogunjobi, Alhaji Sadiku, lukman Olomowewe, the oritu .....
who all stormed the Palace to enjoy undiluted grassroots soccer.
Statistics available show that over 18 Clubs registered for the competition while two clubs were disqualified for late submission of registration forms in all 12 Clubs from Remo -North LGA while 3 from Ikenne LGA and only one Sagamu LGA participated.
According to Prince Muyiwa Osindero, the Palace was chosen as the best venue after careful consideration of a lot of prerequisites which include convenience for all participants to access movies and security as the Royal Courtyard is an exclusive location highly revered amongst Remos.
He said on approaching the Kabiyesi, Oba Osho, the Palace of Alaye of Ode approval was granted with alacrity and it has a really good pitch, and good security.
Saying that" We all know our kabiesi is a Sport loving Oba and a football enthusiast and a ruler with undying passion and commitment to the development of his kingdom."
The registration for the tournament started between 13th November 2023 to 25th November Matches Draws and club re-orientations on the governing rules and regulations took place on the 28th of November 2023 at the Alaye-Ode Palace, Ode-Remo but the tournament kicked off on the 4th of December, to end on 29th of Dec. 2023.
Osindero, also claims that the Dero Foundation carefully planned the tournament not to be only a yearly thing but an event that will accommodate other Sporting programs fully planned for 2024.
The event he quipped has been used to achieve some positive impacts on the youths as it engages the youth in the community fostering stronger bonds, unity, and camaraderie across Remo North and neighboring towns and communities.

"The tourney created an opportunity for both the Players and Coaches like Coach Olufemi Bamigboye helped players to showcase their talents and possibly attract potential sponsors and scooters"
Osindero enthused that the event has opened Remo North up to sports development despite the initial logistics challenges created by the paucity of funds available from his purse"
Presently, I can say by our financial records that over two million naira were expended on the event to ensure its success.

While the investment of venue and presence of Kabiyesi, Olori, and Chiefs can not be over-emphasized nor quantified "
He did not mince words to explain what really motivated the dream which he said is more of a heritage bestowed to us by my father, the late Prince Hector Adesoye Osindero, Aka Dero. was a great Entrepreneur and a renowned Baker and farmer of the highest repute in his era.
Mind you all of us from the Osindero Dynasty share a common DNA that at every stage of development in Remoland there is always an Osindero to catalyze an initiative that has positively been impacting on Ode.
Currently, my brother, benefactor, and mentor Prince Aderanti Adeola Osindero has been doing very well as regards the development of our land and this ignited my passion to add mine through Dero Foundation Initiative.
However, this sports tournament is just a fraction of the uncountable good intentions and initiative that Dero Foundation will spur in Remoland.
We also have amongst our various plans to start a Youth Engagement Initiative for Leadership Development and our doors are open to like-minded mature organizations and individuals who share in our goals and mission.
To our organization it is Remo North 1st Before Others is our motto which shows how dedicated and patriotic we are.
