Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation Nigeria (OIFN), says it is high time the Nigerian government and the philanthropic public raise and support OI patients in Nigeria.

According to Tarela Aghanti, founder of OIFN, there is no better time to ensure that individuals who suffer from OI get adequate support from the government.

Tarela Aghanti says that the essence of the OIFN Conference was to create awareness for the public.

“Our main aim was to create awareness and to get the government to sponsor surgeries of OI children. We expected to cut across to the government and the general public to let them know OI is just a medical condition and not witchcraft; we need to show the children love and affection and assure them they can live everyday lives.
