About the Newly Appointed Director: Mr. Nait Abdelhamid

Mr. Nait Abdelhamid, an Algerian national of Kabyle origin from Tizi Ouzou (Micheli), was born on 3 June 1957 in Constantine. Raised in a middle-class family—his father an executive in a public bank and his mother a homemaker—he grew alongside two brothers and two sisters.

His educational journey took place primarily in Constantine, progressing through:

  1. Voltaire Primary School
  2. CEM Ben Abdelmalek
  3. Lycée Ben Badis, where he obtained his Baccalaureate in 1979

Mr. Abdelhamid later earned a distinguished diploma from the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA), Algiers, specializing in economic and financial administration.

He began his career as an Administrator at the Wilaya of El Taref, serving from 1984 to 1989 in various strategic roles, including:

  1. Head of the Heritage and Assets Department
  2. Attaché for Economic Affairs
  3. Attaché for Reserved Matters of the Governor

In 1991, he entered the banking sector, where he built an exceptional 30-year career:

  1. Crédit Populaire d’Algérie (1991–2001) — rising through all ranks up to Branch Director
  2. Al Baraka Bank Algeria (2001–2013) — serving as Branch Director
  3. Housing Bank for Trade and Finance – Algeria (2015–2019) — successfully launching a new Constantine branch

Since 2019, he has served as an independent consultant in banking and investment, advising a wide range of clients.

In 2026, he was appointed Exclusive Representative for Algeria at the Africans Investors Council (AIC) and later the same year, Non-Executive Director for Algeria at the Clevenard International Business Club.
