Kgagudi Morota, a distinguished legal practitioner, academic, social justice advocate, and transformational leader from South Africa, will be honoured with the Global Excellence in Access to Justice, Legal Empowerment & Socio-Economic Transformation Award at the Clevenard Open Project 2026, taking place from 27–30 August 2026 at the Palacio de Congresos Alicante, Spain.

The prestigious award will be formally presented on Day 4 – Sunday, 30 August 2026, during the Clevenard Global Awards – 3rd Edition 2026, the flagship awards ceremony of the Clevenard Open Project, held alongside the International Fashion Runway. The ceremony recognizes outstanding global leaders whose work is creating lasting impact in their professions, communities, and nations.

In addition to receiving this international honour, Adv. Kgagudi Morota will deliver a keynote address on Day 1 (27 August 2026) during the Global Authors' Recognition & Education Summit.

Adv. Kgagudi Morota is an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa, legal scholar, and academic dedicated to advancing access to justice, legal education, constitutional rights, and socio-economic transformation. He currently serves as the Head of the UNISA Law Clinic at the University of South Africa (UNISA), where he provides strategic leadership across four branches located in Pretoria, Polokwane, Middelburg, and Parow.

Through his leadership, the UNISA Law Clinic delivers essential legal services to indigent and vulnerable members of society who would otherwise be unable to access legal representation. His work has significantly contributed to the promotion of constitutional rights, social justice, and legal empowerment for marginalized communities throughout South Africa.

A passionate educator and mentor, Adv. Morota plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of legal professionals through clinical legal education. By integrating academic learning with practical legal training, he equips law students with litigation skills, professional ethics, and real-world experience in public interest law.

Beyond academia and legal practice, Adv. Morota serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Black Forum South Africa, a national social justice organization committed to advancing Black solidarity, empowerment, economic inclusion, and meaningful transformation. Through advocacy, policy engagement, and community development initiatives, the organization promotes substantive equality and addresses systemic socio-economic challenges within South Africa's constitutional democracy.

Currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LLM) in Mining and Environmental Law, Adv. Morota's research focuses on environmental governance, sustainable development, mining regulation, constitutional rights, and socio-economic justice. His multidisciplinary expertise places him at the forefront of important conversations surrounding responsible governance, equitable development, and environmental sustainability.

Throughout his career, Adv. Morota has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ethical leadership, accountable governance, legal empowerment, and transformative social change. His contributions continue to inspire legal professionals, students, policymakers, and communities across South Africa and beyond.
