Clevenard to Honour Dr. Johnstone Chikwanda at the 2026 Clevenard Open Project & Global Awards in Alicante, Spain

Alicante, Spain — Clevenard SL is proud to announce that Dr. Johnstone Chikwanda – Energy Sector Consultant, Author, Entrepreneur, and Global Ambassador will be honoured with a prestigious Honorary Award at the Clevenard Open Project 2026, taking place from 27–30 August 2026 at the Palacio de Congresos, Alicante, Spain.

The honorary recognition will be formally presented on Day 4 — Sunday, 30 August 2026, during the Clevenard Global Award – 3rd Edition 2026, the flagship awards ceremony held alongside the International Fashion Runway. This celebration recognises exceptional global leaders whose influence transcends borders, institutions, and generations.

In addition to receiving this distinction, Dr. Chikwanda will deliver keynote addresses at the forum:

• Day 1 (27 August): Global Authors’ Recognition & Education Summit – focusing on his two published books and the role of energy, leadership, and entrepreneurship in shaping Africa’s future.
• Day 3 (29 August): Global Tourism & International Film Celebration – highlighting interdisciplinary approaches to energy, sustainability, and economic development.

Dr. Johnstone Chikwanda is a distinguished Zambian energy sector consultant, researcher, author, entrepreneur, pine and eucalyptus farmer, and owner of a local radio station. He serves as the Forum of African Traditional Authorities (FATA) Global Ambassador on Energy and Climate Change, is a John Maxwell Leadership Certified Coach, a Fellow of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ), and a peer reviewer for the Journal of Energy in Southern Africa.

Currently, he serves as Thematic Expert on the Energy Track for the EU-Zambia Lobito Corridor Business Forum Project, engaged by GFA Group Consultancy (Germany), providing strategic support to the Presidential Delivery Unit and the European Union Delegation under the EU Global Gateway Initiative. He has held senior leadership and policy roles, including Chairperson of the Rural Electrification Authority (REA), Chairperson of Indeni Petroleum Refinery, and board member of the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) and ZESCO Task Force on Electricity Reforms, shaping regulatory frameworks and advancing energy transition initiatives.

A prolific author, Dr. Chikwanda has written over 800 articles since 2008 and published two books on Amazon. Recognized as “Best Columnist” by the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA), he has spoken at high-level forums such as the 22nd World Petroleum Congress (Istanbul), the Commercial & Industrial Energy Storage Summit (Lusaka, 2025), the Zambia-China High Quality Development Forum (2024), the Economic Association of Zambia, and the Centre for Policy Dialogue. In 2025, he presented to Zambia’s High Commissioners and Ambassadors on energy diplomacy and critical minerals and was invited by H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of Ghana, to speak at the 11th TANA High-Level Forum on Security in Africa in Addis Ababa on “Energy Security: Navigating Energy Transitions & Green Initiatives.”

Dr. Chikwanda holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (University of Zambia), an MBA in Entrepreneurship (MANCOSA, South Africa), a PhD in Leadership Studies focusing on strategic petroleum reserve modeling, and a Higher Education Teaching Certificate (Harvard University). He also holds a Certificate in PV Solar System Design, Installation, Operation, and Maintenance, combining engineering, business, and energy expertise with practical entrepreneurial ventures.

He has engaged extensively with governments, multilateral organizations, financial institutions, and traditional leaders across Africa. His work spans energy audits, renewable energy solutions, regulatory advisory, project management, business development, public-private partnerships, and energy transition strategy. Dr. Chikwanda is a globally recognized thought leader, featured on media platforms including Voice of America, Al Jazeera, Xinhua News Agency, China Global Television Network, SABC, ZNBC, and TRTV.
