- Honouring Munirat Antoinette Lecky – Outstanding Leadership in Tourism and Creative Economy Awardee
A highlight of this year’s ceremony will be the recognition of Munirat Antoinette Lecky, popularly known as Anto Lecky, who will be honoured with the Outstanding Leadership in Tourism and Creative Economy Award.
Currently serving as Senior Special Assistant to the Edo State Governor on Tourism and Creative Economy, Anto Lecky has emerged as one of Africa’s most dynamic voices in the fields of culture, tourism, and creative enterprise. Her work represents a fusion of education, entertainment, business innovation, and social advocacy — making her an inspiring role model for young Africans and the global Diaspora.
Born in Auchi Sacred Kingdom, Etsako West Local Government, Edo State, Anto pursued her academic journey in the United States. She graduated from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science, and went on to obtain an MBA and a Masters in Sports Business Management from the University of Central Florida’s prestigious DeVos Sports Business Management program, ranked among the most competitive in the world.
A Career Rooted in Education, Creativity, and Social Impact
Anto’s career reflects her passion for creativity, sports, and business leadership. She began as the Head of Operations for Nigeria’s first private basketball league and athleisure brand, combining her love for sports and entrepreneurship. She rose to prominence as a semi-finalist on Africa’s most popular entertainment show, Big Brother Naija, where she leveraged her platform to champion youth empowerment and women’s inclusion in leadership spaces.
She has worked with domestic and international brands, airlines, tourism commissions, and travel agencies, promoting destinations and services that showcase Africa’s beauty and cultural wealth. As host of the DSTV travel and tourism program “Sights of Flavors”, Anto became a strong advocate for cultural exchange, heritage preservation, and the business of tourism.
Her contributions extend into Nigeria’s growing creative industry, having served as Program Manager for the Kunle Afolayan Productions Film and Television Academy, and later as Arts and Special Projects Lead at ElectHER, an organization dedicated to championing women’s participation in politics and governance.
Leadership and Advocacy Beyond Borders
Beyond her government role, Anto is the Founder of The Live Wire Project, a non-governmental organization dedicated to driving social impact by amplifying voices, raising awareness, and finding sustainable solutions to critical issues in Nigeria and Africa.
She also serves as Special Assistant, Digital and New Media to the Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, where she combines her expertise in digital platforms with governance to enhance public engagement and visibility.
Her recognition at the Clevenard Media Award 2025 affirms her multi-dimensional impact — as a policymaker, creative leader, media personality, and humanitarian committed to advancing Africa’s cultural and economic agenda.
