  • Honoree Profile: Judith Akuta-Ajayi (Blue Lips)
  • Award Category: Creative Arts & Community Leadership
  • Profession: Actress, Healthcare Professional & Community Leader

Judith Akuta-Ajayi, fondly known as Blue Lips, is a distinguished UK-based actress of Nigerian descent whose life’s journey reflects passion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Born in London to the family of the late Chief Ezeji-Mbazu-Igwe I of Uzoagba, Jude Akuta, and Lolo Salome Akuta, Judith returned to Nigeria at the age of seven, where she completed her primary and secondary education. In the early 1990s, she relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue her university studies. By 2000, she qualified as a Staff Nurse and went on to achieve academic distinction with Postgraduate Diplomas in Occupational Health and Law, as well as an MBA in Healthcare Management.

Though accomplished in healthcare, Judith’s passion for acting remained constant. From early school productions in Nigeria to joining UK Nollywood in 2016, she has consistently showcased her remarkable versatility. Her credits include films and television productions such as Talking Dolls, Gold Dust Ikenga, Accidental Spy, Just One Blood, Survivor, Black Mail, Behind the Veil, Silent Pain, and The Phantom & The Cat. Her artistry also extends to stage plays, music videos, and adverts, earning her recognition for her outstanding performances.

Judith’s influence transcends the creative arts. She is the First Vice Chair of the Central Association of Nigerians in the United Kingdom (CANUK), serving as a vital bridge between the Nigerian diaspora and the Nigerian High Commission. As a community leader, influencer, plus-size model, and event host, she has been honored with awards for her community contributions and continues to inspire others with her multifaceted roles.

Married to Joseph Ajayi and mother of two children, Obinna and Adaugo, Judith balances her professional achievements with personal passions such as exercising and salsa dancing.

This evening, we proudly celebrate Judith Akuta-Ajayi (Blue Lips) for her exemplary achievements in the creative arts, her leadership in healthcare, her service to the Nigerian community in the United Kingdom, and her inspiring role as a woman of substance and impact.
