Hon. (Dr.) Gbandi is a respected diaspora leader, peace advocate, and media strategist who has spent over 28 years serving and representing the interests of over 20 million Nigerians living abroad. As the former Continental Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Organization Europe (NIDOE)—the largest network of African diaspora professionals globally—he has championed sustainable development through diaspora-led solutions, bilateral partnerships, and strategic reforms.

His impactful leadership includes:

• Launching the Diaspora City Housing Project, designed to support returnees from the diaspora with dignified and affordable housing in Nigeria.
• Securing a $2.36 billion Humanitarian Housing Fund that is set to provide 650,000 homes and 300,000 new jobs annually over the next decade.
• Collaborating with CIM/GIZ and Germany’s BMZ to develop long-term youth employment programs in Nigeria.
• Spearheading diaspora enrollment into the National Identity Database, facilitating access to National Identification Numbers (NIN) and General Multi-Purpose Cards (GMPC) for Nigerians abroad.
