The Clevenard Media Award brings together musicians, DJs, comedians, dancers, actors, MCs, fashion designers, beauty professionals, filmmakers, producers, influencers, entrepreneurs, businesses, government officials, NGOs, and community leaders. It is more than just an awards show—it is a powerful movement that celebrates innovation, resilience, and excellence in all its forms.

The Story of Abdeslam HabibAllah: A Champion of Unity and Social Cohesion

Among this year’s celebrated nominees is Abdeslam HabibAllah, a renowned social leader, peace advocate, and community mobilizer. Born in Morocco and now a naturalized citizen of South Africa, Abdeslam has spent decades building bridges between diverse cultures and fighting for the rights of migrant communities.

Fluent in Arabic, English, and French, Abdeslam brings a unique cultural and linguistic perspective to his work. His educational foundation at the French Technical Institute of Banking (ITB), where he earned diplomas in Marketing and Communication, equipped him with the strategic skills to lead and organize impactful initiatives.

His journey of leadership began in 2007 as the Chairperson of the Moroccan Association of South Africa. Recognizing a wider need, he went on to co-found the African Diaspora Forum (ADF), an umbrella organization advocating for African and Asian migrant communities. He later served as its Chairman, championing migrant integration and rights.

His influence has expanded across a range of platforms:

• Chairperson, Union of Arab Community in South Africa (2010)
• Leader, Migrant Community Board (2012)
• Organizing Secretary, World Social Forum on Migration (WSFM), 2014
• Coordinator, Social Cohesion Dialogues (2014–2015)
• Social Cohesion Advocate, appointed by the South African Minister of Sports, Arts, and Culture (2020)
• Ward Committee Member, City of Johannesburg – Economic Development Portfolio

From international forums to grassroots initiatives, Abdeslam has led impactful programs such as soccer tournaments that unite youth across nationalities—one of which featured global football legend Didier Drogba. These events not only promote inclusion, but also use sport as a powerful tool for peace and dialogue.

In recognition of these extraordinary efforts, Abdeslam HabibAllah received the Social Integration Champion Award at the Alkebulan Immigrants Impact Awards (AIIA) last year, 2024—a further testament to his commitment to social justice and migrant empowerment.

Today, as Chairman of the African Diaspora Forum, his vision remains bold and unwavering: a South Africa—and indeed a world—where diverse societies can coexist in harmony, mutual respect, and unity.
