Both parties and their presidential candidates.

As time moves forward, the real Ahmed Tinubu is beginning to emerge. And the electorate is beginning to take notice. His supporters will say that he will win the next election hands down.

His detractors will say think again. I am totally apolitical in that I have absolutely no allegiance to Nigeria's political parties, but I must say that I agree with his detractors. Unfortunately, the next election for many Nigerians will be a choice between the frying pan and the fire. As per Atiku Abubakar, his main role is to win elections, not to perform.

That he did very well with Obasanjo much to the country's dismay. It is the 16 years of uninterrupted service, if one can call it service, why the PDP is in its current predicament. The people have not forgotten the social, economic, moral and cultural carnage meted out to the Nigerian people during those PDP years. $16b Power Fund is a prime example.

The PDP will be in the political wilderness for years to come. But all is not lost. The APC under the leadership of Muhammadu Buhari will devolve just as the PDP did. Rampant corruption plus the handling of insecurity are just two examples of their devolution. There will be more. The people after time will eventually tire of them and vote them out. The PDP will then take the reins, and the cycle will repeat itself.
