NTA Network Center Port Harcourt Staff Training on Effective Communication and Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence has often been referred to as an ability to recognize, manage, and express one’s emotions as well as respond appropriately to the emotions of others.

Emotional intelligence is typically made up of four components – as the words suggest include – (1) Self Awareness, (2) Self -Management, (3) Social Awareness, (4) Relationship Management.

Emotional intelligence is considered crucial in both personal and professional contexts. Individuals with high emotional intelligence are often better equipped to handle interpersonal relationships, work effectively in teams, and navigate complex social situations.

Emotional intelligence has the potential to contribute significantly to leadership effectiveness, as it fosters qualities such as empathy, self-awareness and the ability to inspire and motivate others.

To this end a training was conducted for staff of NTA Network Center Port Harcourt on Effective communication and emotional intelligence by IHP Consulting Services on the 4th of April 2024.

Faculty members of IHP Consulting Services Dr. Mercy Abu Bello and Ifeoma Okafor highlighted key takeaways from the training to include better team collaboration and increased employee engagement in the workplace.

Zonal Director NTA Network Center Port Harcourt, Evelyn Nwosu, PhD was emphatic that trainings such as the one which was being conducted gave participants an edge when it came to career advancement as no knowledge was a waste.

Participants cut across a broad spectrum of staff of the network center from the Zonal Director herself to the Assistant Directors, all the way down to all other subordinate staff.
