IGUEBEN's NEW YAM FESTIVAL

The in-house New Yam Festival (IHUAN) in Igueben Kingdom was successfully held recently.

HRM Ehizogie Eluojierior, The Onogie of Igueben and Okaigun of Esanland, while thanking God for the bountiful harvest evident in the quality of yams displayed, encouraged Igueben sons and daughters both home and in diaspora to continually uphold the cultural heritage of the Esan people. He also prayed to God for good health, prosperity and peace for Igueben Kingdom declaring the best for the Kingdom is yet to come.



High point of the
ceremony was the yams display and cultural dance by the palace women.


It also saw the installation of chief Benson Aikodon as the Obazuaye of Igueben kingdom.

Present at the ceremony were High Chief Oniha, High Chief Iyase, High Chief Ezomon, High Chief Ekpen, High Chief Odogbo, High Chief Okakwo, High Chief Odalo, High Chief Esongua and host of other chiefs, Iwebos, elders and women groups.
