M.A.N and other political groups set to join SDP
United Political parties for good governance (UPPG) and Mobilise All Nigerians for good governance (MAN) led by Amb, (Dr) Odion Cedrack Okpebholo met with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) NEC members today and agreement was reached for the final declaration this week.
The SDP has historical antecedents and sentiments, with decent personalities. It also has the widest national visibility, presence and recognition amongst the Parties outside the two dominant parties. Many of the players in these two dominant parties see the SDP as the alternative party in the event of unfavorable outcome in their respective parties.
The SDP is perceived as a national political party with a visible logo which the electorates can easily identify with,
The SDP is currently positioned as the alternative party by many political gladiators in the so called two dominant parties. They are getting a lot of attention. It will therefore be easier to positively and selectively harvest from the two parties especially after strategically taking over the party before the fallouts. It is also better to be where it will prospectively happen than to be on the margin with a small party,
In light of the above, we the UPPG/MAN has adopted the Social Democratic Party (SDP) as the political party of our choice without foreclosing further discussions with the other Parties to bring them into the fold under an acceptable working arrangement.
To this end, we call on the meaningful Nigerians both home and Diaspora to join the progressive party (SDP) that will make Nigeria a better place to live in again.
