Re: Osinachi: Nigerian mothers seek end to domestic violence, unsafe society for women ...

Nigeria is a violent society. We must all do our part to reduce domestic violence in our communities. Its really weird, but over 35% of the men, who don't hit women, tend to also be victims of domestic violence. Maybe abusive women see them as soft, unwilling to fight back and ripe for abuse from women. I have seen drunken men repeatedly beaten every day by their women. This is something we must also tackle as a society.

All these advocates should be more inclusive of other victims.Violence against children is also widespread. Youth on youth violence is perhaps the most common and deadly form of violence. Our misguided young men are killing each other and destroying entire communities. These youths are mostly raised by single mothers.

Why aren't these youths less violent then, since they were raised by single women who hate violence? We are doing it wrong. We must advocate against all types of violence. Violence is violence. No form of violence is special. All must be condemned if we want to be successful. All the best going forward.
