New Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre proposed for Universidad Andina Simon Bolivar.

Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett meets with Dr. César Montaño Galarza, Rector of the Universidad Andina Simon Bolivar, established by the Andean Parliament and is part of the Andean Integration System, to discuss collaboration on sustainablilty, resilience and climate change initiatives.

They agreed on the establishment of a Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre (GTRCMC) which would be the first GTRMC established in South America.

Importantly, this University has significant linkages with Jamaica and Simón Bolívar’s campaign in South America. Bolivar wrote a letter from Jamaica, where he explained his thoughts about the social and political situation of the Spanish America at the time, the power of the Spanish Empire.
