PRESS RELEASE

In the wake of the gloomy democratic sky in Nigeria, the National Democratic Coalition, NADECO USA has decided to “take the bull by the horns" to re-strategize, reinvigorate and create new international frontiers to deepen democracy in Nigeria. We shall not allow the many gains of democratic values of our past heroes to be in vain.

NADECO USA is "Africa's awakening International Pro- Democracy group dedicated to promoting the processes of democracy, rule of law, as well as strengthening Democratic institutions in Africa."

It has been re-engineered and repositioned to foster a unity of purpose and to organize, sensitise and build new structures all over the big cities of North America with the purpose of driving a more powerful and all inclusive democratic movement for a better society across sub sahara Africa.

It is worth noting that recently in Chicago, in collaboration with a prominent group there, Afenifere and NADECO USA planted a seed of hope and great leadership value during a well-attended rally in support of democracy, good governance, and the rule of law which was graced by great personalities including Ms. Aisha Yesufu, Fred Nwako (Hard Talk Media Show, Chicago), Austin Ezoemena (ODIPAC Team Leader), Prof. Adenike Akorede Olaoye (Publisher of Shekinah International Magazine and a host of others.

In light of this, NADECO USA has resolved to water this seed of hope and use it as a template across many big cities in North America.

In addition, as part of our relentless efforts to drive and establish a true and virile democracy in Nigeria, we are organizing a vitual summit to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the annulment of the June 12th, 1993 Presidential election. The event will not only be a retrospective of the many struggles for democracy in Nigeria as it will also focus on where we are today and where are we going to, in order to deepen democracy and good governance.

The theme of the summit is "June 12, 1993 -May 29, 2023: Nigeria's Journey To Democracy So Far."

We are hoping for great solidarity and support from all our veteran leaders in Nigeria.

It is important to note that we are working with other interest groups in the US and our NADECO leaders in Nigeria.
