PUBLIC DENOUNCEMENT OF PURPORTED ATTEMPT TO REMOVE PROF. BANJI AKINTOYE AS YORUBA LEADER
I came across a document circulating on line, alleged to have been written by one Comrade Victor Taiwo, to the effect of his intent (and that of his non-existent supporters) to remove Prof. Banji Akintoye as the substantive Yoruba leader.
Surprisingly, I saw my name as one of the signatories!
I was neither informed nor consulted about such a hairbrained idea. It is ill thought out, brazen and outrightly condemnable.
This is definitely not the distraction the Yoruba Nation needs at this crucial time of our history.
Of course, I can never be part of this kind of brouhaha concocted by Victor Olu Taiwo. It stands condemned with every fibre of my being!
I was not consuited, neither was my signature sought.
I was there at the Parliament House in Ibadan, on Thursday, the 29th October, 2020, as one of the incensed Self Determination Groups leaders, who gathered to decisively and physically put an end to this rascality and to the meeting he called to effect it.
This matter stands dead and buried.
Prof Banji Akintoye remains the defacto, authentic Yoruba leader!
