The Birth Of A New Lagos And A Better Tomorrow In Yorùbá Land ,

"Yoruba Ronu": A Paradoxical Truth, By David Adenekan.

Suffice to say that many of our kinsmen lack wisdom and understanding. Yes, many of them are still in the mind-set of the old adage by late Chief Hubert Ogunde that says "Yoruba ronu" anytime they found themselves in a suppressive and oppressive moods in the contraption called Nigeria. However, this kind of mind-set does not resonate with current political impasse that saw the exit of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu from Lagos politics. Many of my kinsmen cannot read between the lines that this may signal the birth of a new Lagos and a better tomorrow in Yoruba land.

Prejudice apart, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a man who sold his conscience to the Fulani Oligarchy at the detriment of his ethnic group because of his inordinate ambition. To allude to the fact was the statement he made when Baba Reuben Fasoranti's daughter (Chieftain of Pan Afenifere group) was brutally murdered by the suspected Fulani herdsmen, "Where are the cows". This was in sharp contrast to what President Mohammed Buhari did, when he visited (as the grand patron of Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria) Oyo state government under the leadership of Lam Adesina of blessed memory to query the deadly clash between the Fulani herdsmen and Yoruba farmers at oke ogun in Oyo state. Buhari knows that Nigeria is a mere geographical expression as postulated by Chief Obafemi Awolowo, the late saga and the interest of his Fulani people is far beyond any national interest. Yes, Buhari unalloyed loyalty to the Fulani people cannot be overemphasized and the evidence is crystal clear in his present administration of Nigeria.

However, now that the ancestral spirit (awon alale) of Yoruba land is against Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his unfortunate roles and complicity in the LEKKI TOLL GATE MASSACRE on October 20th, 2020 (The Black Tuesday), his acolytes are wailing and yelling. They now found solace in the old Yoruba adage "Yoruba ronu".

Hmmmm, is the current political scenario truly "Yoruba ronu or Yoruba wise up? What a mischaracterization of narratives!

Moreover, I wrote in one of my very recent articles about Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu's unruly behavior towards his royal majesty Ooni Orisa, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, ojaja II that "ti ilu ba ti dun ni adun ju, yiya ni o ma n ya". This is interpreted as excessive beating of a drum will make it get busted. Is it not amazing that today my prophecy has come to pass? Yes, this is just the beginning of what is about to happen. The end is not in sight and heads will roll! The hand written on the wall is not too good for many acolytes of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

However, the clandestine attempt to give it a ethnic coloration is not going to fly because Yoruba o ronu mo. Yes, we are now wise! Also, we are prepared and ready to clean up and purify our ancestral land from all of the past defilement, by wicked leaders.

In summary, for many who still believe in the adage that says "Yoruba Ronu", I guess they are still living in the era of PRE LEKKI TOLL GATE MASSACRE. Also, I have news for the "remnants" of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu political dynasty, the "ARK OF NOAH" for the emancipation of Yoruba nation is now moving very fast with our brilliant youths behind the wheel and if you allow the "ARK OF NOAH" to leave you behind, you will be consigned into the dustbin of history.

Lastly, "Yoruba o ronu mo rara, Yoruba ti wise up, Yoruba ti jasi, Yoruba ti saprapra". This is today's reality.

Thanks to our brilliant youths for this movement and history will forever be on their side. Ase, Edumare.

Only time will tell.
