Sir Alex Ferguson joins Manchester United players

Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson arrived at the club's Carrington training complex on Saturday morning as the squad made its final preparations for Sunday's vital match against Tottenham.

Sir Alex was pictured being driven into the facility as members of the first-team squad arrived for a training session. Caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, speaking to soccer AM, said the squad would be travelling by train down to London on Saturday evening.

Chris Smalling, who is a doubt for tomorrow's clash at Wembley because of a foot injury, was among the players photographed arriving at the AON training centre.

Paul Pogba, who missed the FA Cup tie against Reading after being injured following a tackle by Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey 10 days ago, was not among those pictured arriving.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was Sir Alex Ferguson's choice to replace Louis van Gaal as United manager in 2016 and he offered the Argentine advice during a luncheon in London two weeks before Mourinho was installed.
