Re: THE RECENT PROTEST IN THE NIGERIAN EMBASSY MADRID

I live in Madrid. To be honest every staff in the Nigerian embassy here in Madrid need to be sacked as it is they are not serving any purpose. I visited the embassy for a consulate service recently (early December) but there was a total lack of customer service along with the nonchalant behaviour of those working in the embassy.

I was told that I could not enter the embassy building and had to stay from a distance to announce my purpose of coming via intercom. in my view, the cost of keeping some of this staff would be better spent on recruiting staffs that are pleasant, very knowledgeable and would make the embassy a pleasure to visit. Majority of the staff working in the embassy are incompetent and they are there due to nepotism and cronyism.

Is it their rude manners or is it the way they extort money from fellow Nigerians. They are not of any help to Nigerians without extorting money. I have experienced that several times. And I don't think in some of these cases the Ambassadors or FG are aware of it!

Many there have made it their way of life to insult and mal-treat visiting Nigerians who need their services without fear of query. Most of the staff are a disgrace to Nigeria. You go to the embassy with trepidation and by the time you come out of the embassy building, you are a complete wreck mentally, emotionally and physically.

I use to wonder if the worst set of Nigerians were specifically selected to be in that embassy for the special purpose of torturing fellow Nigerians. It is high time the federal govt. clean that place up.

Amb. Demola Rasaq Seriki, is indeed trying his very best to fight the endemic corruption that exists within the Nigerian embassy and to do what he has to do in the best interest of Nigeria and Nigerians in the diaspora regardless of the pushbacks.
